I began my teaching career in 1997 at Morton Elementary School teaching 2nd grade.  I taught 2nd grade for three years and decided to move to a school closer to home.  I taught at Northwest Middle School for one year, and I came back to Morton Elementary the next year teaching 4th grade.  I taught 4th grade Reading and Language Arts for 13 years.  I moved to 3rd grade Reading and Language Arts (ELA) last year and will be doing the same this year!!

Hey ya'll!! My name is Tracie Hinton.  I was born and raised in Pelahatchie, MS.  I am a self-proclaimed country girl.  I hang my clothes out every day, grow fresh vegetables in the summer, and love doing anything outside like hunting and fishing.  I have two little people that I call my own, a son and a daughter.  My son is 15, and my daughter is 5.  Whew!!  I love doing anything that includes my family, traveling, and cooking for my family.  I kind of fell into teaching by accident, but I believe that nothing happens by accident.  Someone once told me when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life to pick something that you enjoy doing so much that you would do it without pay.  I love teaching that much.  I love the children, and once I ever have them in my class, they become my babies forever.
